Given they are "merely" Xeon blades in a fancy box, what does the Cray do that you can't get out of an HP/Dell/SGI/Sun blade server?

Nothing :( .  We adquire better hardware for the project, but the client insist on asking to fulfill exactly the conditions from almost 8 years ago (this includes old hardware testing). So it is a combination of an unflexible client, a very long project and our lousy contract.
