1440p 144hz for Photo Editing?

Hello,

Im having trouble deciding between a couple monitors. (All would be used)

I currently have a DELL U2715H
Its a 1440p 27inch 60hz IPS and I use it for gaming and Photo editing.
Currently im looking at uping my gaming side of things so was wanting to go higher refresh rate while not losing any of the colour accuracy my DELL has.
Looking mainly on the used market as new monitors in my area are really expensive.

I use photoshop and lightroom for editing as well as play some esport type games like Overwatch and R6 Siege
I am running a 4770k with a 980ti. (Could upgrade in the future)

For about $300 USD I can get an ASUS MG279.

And i know these can be Made to run GSync all the way up to 144hz easily.

Or like $350 i can get a XB271HU

For about $550 USD i could get an ASUS PG348Q. This would be nice as its ultrawide.

Or for about the same $550USD i could get an Acer X34p

What are your thoughts and do people know if these monitors are colour accurate?

Thank you in advance!

Most likely 99-100% sRGB will be good enough.

But I'd go for a 4k display for productivity stuff, no idea on it's pricing in NZ though...

What's your current monitor?

You could also just get 1 1080p IPS display and 1 1080p 144hz display potentially for the same price.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I'd just stick to a 1080p 144hz display, since a 1440p 27" display isn't too much sharper besides the price increase. 91 vs 108 ppi

I was going to suggest a 240hz display as they're cheap in the US now, but it's like 3 times the price of a 144hz 1080p display.

But you already have a 1440p display? or were you going to sell your current display and upgrade it?

Sell and upgrade.
Just wondering if 144hz  is noticibly better than 100hz and if ultrawide is worth the upgrade

(pricing above is converted to USD)

Then probably just go for the ultra wide, extra pixels are more useful than a bit higher refresh rate if you're already at 100hz.

You also might be able to overclock the monitor to 120hz.

Well I guess it's hard to beat that monitor, would you be able to get it and keep your other 1440p monitor? If so I'd go that route for multiple displays.

Prob wont be able to keep it due to space restrictions

Well if you are stuck with a single monitor option, I'd probably just get an ultra wide, much easier to do work on those since you can split it in half basically.

Have You seen this photo on profiled and calibrated ~sRGB monitor vs wide gamut calibrated and profiled monitor ( ~AdobeRGB or ~DCI-P3) ??

... I have seen, and sRGB is good for Excel, but NOT for real Photography

I have a 4k TN panel, it looks fine to me? lol.

If you need like 100% adobe RGB or 100% P3, maybe just get a 1080p panel? Because I think those requirements can start to really get expensive above 1080p.
