Hi!

It's been 3-4 years since i've built my computer and i think it's about time i upgrade it. So I'd like to know what parts are the worst and by which ones i should be replacing them.

I want my computer to be gaming (aiming for 1080p 60fps) oriented as much as possible, no streaming, no video editing, or any kind of madness.

I'm willing to invest as much as 800$ for the whole rig.

My parts :

  CPU : AMD FX-8300 3.3Ghz

CPU cooler : Cryorig H7 plus

  RAM : 2x 8Gb DDR3 1866Mhz

  Motherboard : MSI 970A-G43 PLUS

  GPU : GTX 1050ti OC

  Case : Aerocool cl-102 (just bought a Phanteks p300)

and a 560W power supply...

While building my current rig, i've made a mistake, i took 16Gb of RAM thinking i could reuse it when upgrading but now DDR4 is the minimum. I also like to know how parts will evolve in the future in order to avoid making the same kind of mistakes.

Thanks in advance

I should add that i live in France.

How much are you looking to spend? What resolution/refresh rate do you play games on? Where are you located?

I recommend looking at pcpartpicker for some prices around your area and online as a starting point (it also helps seeing if parts are compatible to a degree). However, there are a couple of questions you need to answer.

How long do you want to keep the computer for?

How much are you willing to spend?

What are you expecting out of this computer? (ie: 1080p 60hz, 1080p 144hz, 1440p 60fps, etc)

Technology is evolving at a fast pace, but a good way to stay up to date is to watch TechQuickie or shows like that once in a while.

Personally I'd say get a new power supply and graphics card because

Since you didn't specify what model you probably didn't care when you bought it so it sucks

Then see if your processor is still holding you back and consider an upgrade to a new CPU, motherboard, and ram

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Short answer : 4 years

Long answer : Obviously i want to keep it for as long as possible but i think this factor is going to be tied with how much i'm willing to pay.

The exact name of the power supply is : LC-Power 6560t. A friend gave it to me, i only had the serial number.

So you're saying (excluding the power supply) my CPU is the weak point of my case?
