My specs are an i5 8400 with a vega 56 and 16gb of 2100mhz ddr4 ram. I also have a 75hz 1080p monitor. I have been trying to play games like metro exodus, forza horizon 4, overwatch, and battlefield 5 but can't get over the amount of screen tearing.  I have tried everything like freesync and enhanced sync. Nothing works except for vsync but that causes lag in most games. Will buying a 144hz monitor help this problem or is it maybe a problem with my specs?

Freesync for example isn't actually on if your framerate is above what the max Freesync range. Vsync is one way to limit it, but in game frame limiter or the program I don't remember what's called, is others, and if I remember right causes less input lag than Vsync.

Another option is to change game settings so the framerate is in the sync range.

As a guy stated above, in this case freesync is not working as FPS is above the freesync range, therefore, you getting screen tearing. If not done, try to do the following to set up freesync/gsync correctly.

In-game vsync: OFF
Cap your frame rate to stay below the upper end of the freesync range, using an in-game limiter or (if the game doesn't have one) using RTSS program. Do not use the driver control panel limiter, it has input lag.. So if your monitor is 75hz, cap it at lets say 72Hz. I think I mentioned all the points, let me know if its clear and if it works. So in overwatch you should be seeing a max FPS of 72 and freesync working properly :)
