hello! im building my first PC and i had some questions. So far i have a Core P5, Ryzen 2700X. The other parts i was thinking to pair with it is a MSI X470 gaming plus (gaming in the title always makes it better of course lol), RTX 2060 6 GB, G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB 3600 memory. Only issue is im not sure what kind of power supply i should get for it.

An MSI B450 board would be a better option. Something like the Tomahawk MAX.

RX 5700/XT over the RTX 2060 depending on the prices.

I would stick with 3000 - 3200 for the Ram and just use the Ryzen dram calculator.

You will be fine with a 550W psu. Something like a Corsair TXM or Bitfenix Whisper etc. Have a look in the psu section though at the tier list if you want other options.

@lee32uk i was looking at the B450 but when i looked up what type of boards really help the  Ryxen 7 2700x shine it pointed me towards MSI X470 plus with the B450 wont i need an older chip to be able to do a bios update? that was the other reason i went with the MSI X470. i'll look up the RX 5700/XT. i'm trying to stay under $350 for the gpu. first build and still trying to keep the wife happy over here lol. maybe a dumb question but how do i know the cable will be long enough for the case i have? it is a Core P5 after all and has nothing but room for days.

@Wolfycapt i'll look up the RTX super and see if i can find some good prices.

Both B450 and X470 work out of the box with the 2000 series cpu's so you wouldn't need a bios update.

You can always buy an extension cable for the 8 pin if it won't reach. If you decide on the psu then you can look at the cable length on the manufacturers website to give you a rough idea.
