Build Me A PC

Sailboy42

I am planning a build right now and instead of giving you guys the build I have and want to see what ya'll come up with.

My budget is $2000US however Id like to keep it closer to 1500. I would like to be able to play some high end games such as X-Plane 11 and beat saber on HTC Vive. It will also have to do some light inventor work. The primary use of it will be for editing editing photos using lightroom and Photoshop. This being it will have to have lots of storage as I dont have a NAS. I would also like it to be bale to edit some 4k footage from a gopro. The only accessories I need would be a monitor. This I hope is IPS for photos and decent response time for games. Im not that concerned over refresh rate. The case also needs to have great airflow as I dont want it to have water cooling. I personally like the Phanteks Pro M

Personal preferences. I'd stick with a semi-mod at least. Let the OP decide.

Thanks for the thought. I would at least want a semi, however I would probably stretch for a EVGA or Sea sonic modular one.

Thats a really sketchy looking ram.

Also, you think a 2060 is good enough for my application?

@Blind X Is the Tomahawk all I need? What would an upgrade look like if I wanted thunderbolt for example?

Geil ram is prefectly fine, plus ram is only reallt manufactured by a small handful of companies.

Tomahawk can easily tame 3700X with PBO enabled so no worries there. If you can find the Tomahawk MAX version then well and good otherwise update the BIOS using the MSI Flashback feature on the TOMAHAWK and you are ready to go. Yes it has VRMs capable enough to handle 3700X with overclocks but then just spent a few bucks more for a cooler... Something like Scythe NINJA 5 or FUMA 2.

Thunderbolt 3 is a feature supported by Intel chips only and legally you can't enable its support on non-intel platforms until Intel opens it up.

Just don't get the SeaSonic FOCUS GOLD series. Has some issues due to which it is out of our recommendation.

The ASRock X570 Taichi board has a Thunderbolt 3 AIC header. You need to buy an add in card though.
