EVGA 2080 Super 2080 FTW doesn’t fit in Aorus Xtreme

Hi

I am building a computer for the first time in about 8 years. Went with the Aorus Xtreme x570 board and the EVGA 2080 Super FTW however, this card doesn’t seem to fit into the motherboard because of the bulky GPU and fairly low clearance + the elevated lower right corner of the mobo (where the SATA ports are).

Has anyone else run into issues with fitting this card or with GPU clearance on this board? I'm trying to decide if I should just order a different GPU - although it would suck if the new one also doesn’t fit - versus a new board, although the Aorus is supposedly pretty great!

Thanks

Not ideal, but can you fit it in the next slot down?

If it does fit you might want to check your motherboard manual and make sure there is going to be no performance penalty going with the second slot.

Just checked it,the second slot is PCIE 4 x8 which is equal in speed to PCIE 3 x16,

so the second slot will be fine to use.

I've fitted my PC VEGA64 Red Devil (a pretty big and bulky card) onto my X570 Aorus Extreme without any issue.....although your card seems to fit into the the PCIe x16 slot, you can lock it in place?

I just couldn’t quite get it to lock in the 16

but

thankfully it eventually locked in the 8 so we’re good

appreciate the help I was fixated on the 16 not realizing the 8 wouldn’t impose significant penalty :)
