They are both good but HP gives you IPS which is a huge factor even for laptop users.  Also you will need to put in a SSD or else it will crawl,, no phun...

They are both pretty similar, I would go for the HP because of the better CPU, but you would need to replace the HDD with an SSD for it to be usable.

Acer is IPS as well, literally says that right in the blurb on the fucking product page, at least look at the laptops before giving advice. 

HP looks to be better due to the CPU (both have 1050 Tis), but you will want to add an SSD (that much was correct Turtle). 

If you don't wanna add an SSD the Acer is probably better, but that'll be a 4c/4t CPU vs a 4c/8t CPU. I can't speak on the individual build qualities and such of the laptops, but AFAIK there's no massive issues with either. Would probs be worth tracking down reviews to see how thermals are if you're worried about that.
