Need help with picking a monitor

I'm looking to buy a 1080p HDMI monitor at around 90-100 euro range but the problem is that I don't know what type of panel to pick.. IPS or TN.

My eyes are currently on this: https://www.philips.co.uk/c-p/223V7QDSB_00/full-hd-lcd-monitor/overview#specifications

It's an IPS display and I would preffer it over a TN because of good colors but I heard that IPS displays are bad for gaming which I like doing. How bad or different my gaming experience would be compared to my current acer monitor?

Grab IPS as TN will give you viewing angle but TN is better for gaming.  If you do a mix of both grab the IPS and don't look back.

But if there was a same spec (5ms 60hz) TN and IPS panel which would be better? Or it would be the same? Is gaming better on TN because it has something to do with the panel itself or its just that IPS monitors tend to have lower refresh rates and ms?

I've been gaming on various IPS displays over the past 10 years. There has never been a point in time where I would have thought the monitor panel type was an issue. People blow the IPS gaming argument way way out of proportion. Especially with modern displays, buying a TN is a horrible idea. Get the IPS display and enjoy good colors, contrast and less.eye strain

Response time is meaningless unless it's upward of 20-30ms. There is no good reason to buy a junky TN display in 2019 when IPS/PLS displays are better in every way possible

What? TN doesn't give you viewing angles, IPS does and VA is in-between. Both are good for gaming depending on the type of gaming you're doing and what you want from a monitor. IPS typically has better colors and contrast, but can suffer from backlight bleed and has a higher response time (usually 4-5ms vs the 1ms TN panels commonly are). TN has lower response time, used to be better for high refresh rates but 144Hz IPS monitors are everywhere now. It is usually much cheaper and AFAIK doesn't suffer from backlight bleed, but it also has worse viewing angles and usually worse colors and contrast. VA panels are kinda in-between.

If it's the same spec, the IPS will have better colors and viewing angles while performing the same.

Backlight bleed/inconsistency. Depending on the model it can be noticeable and bothers a lot of people, AFAIK TN panels don't suffer from this.

Yes there is on difference like 5x5 said.  It is just that the community  says different things about IPS or TN.  I can tell you there is no difference and maybe pro gamers that make millions might use TN, but there really isn't a difference that you can see.  Its blind, so go for IPS and have color accuracy.

If it's the same spec, the IPS will have better colors and viewing angles while performing the same.

Backlight bleed is more common on ultra-narrow bezel ones and laptops. If the screen has a normal bezel it won't be an issue. Besides, TNs can also have absurd motion blur despite the low response time as evident by the recent LTT video. Unless you are buying a super expensive TN, you will almost always end up with horrible junk when buying cheap TN displays

mhmm ill maybe think about getting a thicker one then.. cause the one i linked seems pretty thin

Also look for independent reviews. If you watched the cheap monitor comparison from LTT, you've seen that both TNs had horrible colours and motion blur.

get a CRT.
