Hello! I want to buy and build a PC ( a high performance one for gaming), so I need to know what are the parts needed to build one.

Here are the Parts that I already know:

1_Case   2_Graphics card    3_RAMs     4_Memory     5_Processor    6_Battery      7_Cooler (water liquid cooler)     8_Some type of glue to stick the cooler in the case (my friends told me about but I forgot the name).

Any other Part or wire or anything I am missing? And special notes and experiences are also appreciable please.

No offense, but I really think you need to watch some build guides to get a feel for what you're getting yourself into.
There's no glue used.

6_Battery = PSU? Desktops don't use batteries, those are for mobile thingies.

8_Glue = Thermal Paste? Yeah, you don't probably need that one. What comes with cooler is fine, and if you are new to building, get CPU which comes with cooler.

The big one you are missing is motherboard. Everything else is useless without it. Another would be storage. You need at least one drive, preferably internal since you are new to things.

  1. Yes
  2. Yes
  3. more properly a memory kit typically consisting of two memory (RAM) modules
  4. more properly storage, typically consisting of one or two storage devices being some combination of one or more NVMe M.2 ssd (solid state storage drives), SATA III ssd, and hard disk drives (HDD).
  5. usually called the CPU (central processing unit)
  6. only for laptops and tablets, desktop pc use a psu (power supply unit) that plugs into the building power.
  7. more properly a CPU cooler; can be an air tower, aio (all in one liquid cooler), or custom liquid cooling loop. CPU often but not always come with a cpu cooler.
  8. NO! NO! NO! NO! Glue should never come between a cooler and the cpu. What is used between the two is thermal compound (aka thermal paste, thermal grease, and other names), The compound aids in the transfer of heat from the cpu lid (top) to the cooling system. When building an all new system there is usually no need to buy thermal compound.

As has been mentioned a motherboard is also needed. The CPU, CPU Cooler, GPU, memory, PSU and storage are all attached to the motherboard. The motherboard resides in the case, along with all of the other components except for peripherals, see below. Motherboards come in a variety of sizes. The most common being ATX, the largest; mATX, a bit smaller, and mini-ITX smallest. Cases come in various sizes to fit the different motherboard sizes, ATX cases can house all three sizes, mATX can also accommodate mini-ITX.

Peripherals are also needed. Absolutely required are monitor(s), keyboard, and mouse. Other common peripherals include speakers, headphones, microphones, printers, cameras, mouse pad.

Finally, an operating system is required.

Many on this board use pcpartpicker.com to assemble a list of parts. The tool does basic compatibility checking and can suggest a minimum psu capacity.

What the hell do you mean by battery or glue? Please just give us a budget and ask someone else to build it. You're likely to break something

dude.... battery.... what is so strange about it? I literally saw it in an old PC, also for the glue I already told I can't remember the name exactly, but it is to stick the liquid cooler inside the case... are you expecting the cooler to be floating in the mid-air or something? And I really want to build it myself so if any part of it goes down, I can change it myself.

Do you mean a UPS, a Power Supply, a Surge Protector?

oh yes, thermal paste that's the name. And sure I forgot the mention the motherboard ur right.

That was really helpful thanks. But isn't the "storage" same as number 4? (memory)

No, mounting screws hold it in place and that what you called "glue" is thermal paste that helps to transfer heat better to cooler from cpu.

No offence

Thanks dude, was really helpful, but wdym by "an operating system is required"? Is this something that comes separated from the other parts you mentioned before?

No. Computers have numerous memory stores. The cpu has several cache memories. The motherboard has slots for main memory. These memories lose their contents when power is removed. Storage refers to longer term, non-volatile (doesn't need power to retain contents) memory.

You will need to download (using another computer) or otherwise acquire an operating system. Grossly simplified: Windows requires a license to use. This license must be purchased. After assembling the pc one must install an operating system before one can install and run other programs.

Not if we are to use correct terms. Memory = RAM in computers. Or some other short-term memory like cache.
