I finally got my system working with GUI Miner, and cgminer both, but I'm only getting around 280-290 kh/s with my 7870. Other benchmarks show that it should be closer to 400. Does anyone know what I can change to make it do so?

my .bat file is as follows

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum-us.doge.hashfaster.com:3339 -u username.username -p password -I 18 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 15232

and my GUI Miner settings are 7870 (low usage)

I know it says low usage but when I go to high usage it crashes, and if I lower intensity, then I get less hashes than with low usage.

There are some setting that I can't remember (its been a long time since I mined) but there are difficulty levels or something like that.... I hope someone knows what its called.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

Use CGminer rather than GUI miner. It's much better.

cgminer and guiminer are the same only guiminer has a grapic user interface.

CGminer is no longer supporting script

versions above 3.7.2 not more! version below yes!!!!

I was just stating the fact, I now use SG miner but still would like a faster hash rate for my 7870

I get 300kh/s on CGminer, SGminer, GUIminer
