Issues connecting PS4 controller to PC

Hello all so I'm having a small problem with my PS4 controller. When I pair the controller with my PC via bluetooth it works fine when it comes to steam games but when i try playing games outside of steam like apex legends for instance its like it doesn't even exist. It doesn't detect any input and when I go to test the inputs in wireless controller properties the controller is detected but when I try testing the buttons nothing registers. I have also tried to remove the controller from steam but it does nothing all it does is detect input in the controller properties. I need some help all I wanna do is use my steam link and chill on my couch lol

yes I connected it to my steam link as well and it has the same problem lol

I found something on the EA forums i guess its just with origin games in general. I guess you have to have an Xinput device or it wont work via bluetooth but wired it will.
