X570 Aorus Elite | XMP doesn't work

Hello

First of quick backstory:
Bought the Tomahawk b450, but returned it after I couldn't get my memory to it's normal speeds and issues with audio.
So I bought the x570 Aorus Elite, thinking this one would be good enough.

But I can't even get 3200mhz on 16/18/18 1.35V and when I try to change it. It reboots to default (2166mhz cl15)

RAM: 32 GB Corsair LPX 3200mhz CL16 1.35v

I thought I could maybe OC this kit to 3600 mhz for the ryzen sweetspot, but I can't get higher than 2900mhz..

Anyone have any suggestions on what i should do?

PS:
- I have the latest bios
- Ryzen 3700x cpu

You should be able to manually adjust the RAM speed.  X.M.P doesn't always work, and it not a guarantee it will put it to proper speed of the RAM.  So go in BIOS and set to manual and sett the DRAM frequency to 3200Mhz.  Let us know what happens... good luck

Thanks!

I tried 3200 mhz but it instantly resets bios.

At 1.4V 16/18/18/39 - I got 3066 mhz | 3100 mhz = BIOS reboot

Lowest was 1.36V 16/17/17/38 - 2926 mhz | 1.35V = BIOS reboot

The sticker on the memory is 3200mhz 16/18/18 1.35v.

Hope this gives you guys something to go on!

Your board is being way to picky.  You can always try software route of OCing.  I would flash the BIOS on that motherboard and that should fix it up.  If your uncomfortable flashing then let us know and we will walk you through it.  Most mobos have a button in the back which is the BIOS flash button;  You put in a USB stick and flash it with that button.  Or you can go to your BIOS and flash it from there.  I have seen peoples RAM frequency finally work properly at 3200Mhz with BIOS Flash.

I updated the board to the latest bios when I started my pc for the first time. Or is flashing the bios something else?

Also take note!!!  You can't just get the latest BIOS and flash it, with Gigabyte it must be in order.  So it takes a couple flashes, you can't just jump to the most recent one with Gigabyte... At least the x470 I know you must do this.  Your mobo is new but I bet there is a new BIOS for it.  Let us know your thoughts on this subject.

My motherboard has 3 BIOS versions.

F4j - 2019-08-02

F4g - 2019-07-12
F3 - 2019-06-13

I'm flashed it to F4j. Should I revert it to F4j or do something else?

Its a lot of memmory, so its not super suprising it wont clock to XMP.

1,4 volts should net you some clockspeed tho.

How does it react to lower timings to cl18 and voltage to 1,45 and 3600mhz?

Isn't 3600 mhz a bit of a long shot or did you mean 3200mhz?

3600mhz cl18 1,45 volts.

You can try lower speed like 3466mhz aswell if you want to.

You were talking about Bios flashing due to some board not having the correct Bios. Something irrelevant to the post

That reset it to bios.

I'll try 3466 mhz

What are the timings for cl18 or should I leave the rest on auto? | Got them on 18/22/22/49 rn

Please don't push it to 1.45v that is very high and dangerous depending on your case air flow.  I don't want to kill your RAM.  It should work as advertised 3200Mhz 16CL at 1.35v.

As I said previously and didn't undersatnd what I did wrong for GoldenLag to point it out.  I do understand your sorta stuck at 2133 or 29xx speed.  As I said I would flash BIOS one version at a time and I guarantee it will get fixed and allow you to go to 3200Mhz.  Same thing with the mobo I got for my mate.  It was stuck at 2133 and after doing BIOS flashing one BIOS at a time it worked now he can set to 3200Mhz and forget about it.

I bought my mate a Gigabyte X470 Ultra Gaming and 2700x CPU and a 32GB 3200Mhz  Kit.  For the life of him through software or BIOS he could not get 3200Mhz it would be at 2133Mhz.  As soon as I got him to flash the BIOS,, one version at a time, that fixed it and now he could set 3200Mhz in BIOS and forget about it.

I just flashed the BIOS to a previous version and flashed it to the newest version again and nothing changed :C

I'll try again a few times.

Do not ever down grade BIOS, your lucky it went smoothly.  So if you have the latest BIOS and still having this problem, can you please tell me the full product ID or Ram Kit your using ?  I don't think the Gigabyte software would fix the issue.  Must be done in BIOS usually and is safer that way.

You recommended flashing a couple of times. I just downgraded it twice and it still works luckily.

I am going to flash to the latest bios in steps, let's hope that fixes it.

Yes do it in steps,  That is how Gigabyte is, no biggie.  Just one at a time until you get the latest one and that should fix you up.
