BIOS Updating Kerfuffle

Go to solution Solved by ThisIsCheez,

Looks like that mobo doesn't support BIOS flashing without a CPU. My first suggestion is return it to the retailer you bought it from and see if they can update it for you (I know MicroCenter updates all their motherboards before putting them on the shelf). If that's not an option AMD has a program where they send you an Athlon 200GE to borrow so you can flash updated BIOS and then send it back to them: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100#faq-Short-Term-Processor-Loan-Boot-Kit

Heyo!

I recently purchased a Aorus B450 pro wifi to go along with a Ryzen 7 3700x but like a nugget dont forgot that i dont have another CPU to plop into the motherboard to update the BIOS to use the Ryzen 7. Any workarounds i could use to update it without having to purchase another processor?

Thanks! :D

Perfect! Didnt know AMD did that. Thanks for the help! :D

It will be a pain in the butt though.  If you can source some local help then that will be much quicker.
