Budget CPU cooler recommendations?

I need a new CPU cooler, as my pc sounds like it’s going to explode when I play PC Building Simulator. Anybody have any recommendations for a socket AM3 cooler under $40?

But honestly, my advice will probably be, just get a hyper 212 evo and be done with it.

In first spoiler in signature, I was looking at those is the Hyper 212 Black Edition or Black Edition RGB worth the extra money?

Which case are you using? Model name?

The Hyper 212 BE / RGB are decent coolers

The Snowman is not a CM cooler, but a generic Chinese from Aliexpress. Performs very similar to 212 Evo. If your case only fits 150-155mm coolers, you can consider the Snowman, as it is only ~148mm tall, vs. 158mm of the CM 212 series.

 

And cheaper. ~ 17 USD with shipping.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

Just an HP Pavilion case atm, but upgrading to a Deepcool Matrexx 30 or a Cougar MG-110.

Yes i saw that but I don't think I want to order from AliExpress, I’d rather go with the 212 Evo.

The Matrexx 30 only ha s 151mm of clearance for the cpu cooler and that's not enough to fit any of the coolers mentioned so far. 

If you decide to go with the MG-110 instead, good options include:

Ok, I looked around on Amazon and found an Arctic Freezer Xtreme for $35. Seems like a good deal to me, and it would fit in my case, should I get this or should I get one of the aforementioned?
