Iam currently building 2 gaming rigs for my friends, I want both of them to have 16gb DDR4 dual channel RAM, I can get 4x8gb kits alot cheaper than buying 2x8gb twice. Would this work okay splitting a quad channel kit into 2 PC's?

Maybe a silly question.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

If you are planning to do testing on the rigs before giving them to your friends (assuming that the ram sticks are from the same batch) than this could make it easier for trouble shooting.
