.DAT files for video game

I am on a Mac trying to play Lego Harry Potter

 

There are 7 .dat files varying from 208.4mb to 1.66gb.

 

And a .exe file of 14.6mb.

 

I have tried Wine to turn the .exe into a .app.

 

How would I create something to use the .dat files on Mac?

.DAT is generally a generic file extension for, well, data. This shouldn't be your problem in this case. Look for a guide that'll help you in running Lego Harry Potter on your Mac.

 

Edit: Wait, is this the installer or is this the game itself?

I believe it is the game.

 

It came off of a old 2000s Toshiba laptop that came with the game.

 

Where could I find a guide for running the game?

So just turning the exe into an app failed? Does running it work with Wine? Because a MacOS app is literally just a folder, you can create one yourself if you have the patience to learn and/or the bottler (I assume that's what you're trying) doesn't work.

 

As for guides, search on winehq, protondb and google. If you're not finding anything about running the game non-natively, you're going to have to figure it out yourself.

it does not work running with wine, and creating an app through wine doesn't work either.
