Low GPU usage

Razerzz

I recently have expierienced some problems with my PC. When I am playing a game, which is running in 60 fps or higher, for, lets say, an hour, frame rate starts to drop to 40 fps or even lower. I noticed when that does happen, my GPU usage drops to 50% and even goes lower, while my CPU usage jumps to 100% and stays there. I have GTX 1660 and i5 7500. There could be a bottleneck, but im not sure about that. Also, im not playing CPU intensive games, like Battlefield 5. I have this CPU for about 2 months, and this GPU for roughly a month. When i put these two components together, there was no problems whatsoever. Is there anything I can do to fix this low GPU usage problem?

Why did you buy a non HT cpu today?(you said 2 months ago, same shit) 4/4 is starting to lack nowadays enough ooempf.

What are your temps under load

If your CPU usage is at 100% and GPU usage is less than 100%, thats an indication of a CPU bottleneck in your system.

GPU is mostly around 67-74°C, CPU is 63-72°C. Buying this CPU was a mistake, and i dont doubt it. But my budget back then and right now is not good enough to buy a new motherboard and a new ryzen CPU.

But can this problem occur after a while you had a pc? Right now i really didnt know if this problem is because of bottleneck, because, like i said, this problem started to occure 2 or 3 days ago.

Did you check your GPU temp and power limit?

Power limit- 100%

Temp. limit- 83 °C

Core clock- +0

Memory clock- +0

I am really lost now. I dont know what to do man. My cpu is always 100% and GPU reaches max 50%. Games are practically unplayable. I still refuse to believe that the problem is because of the bottleneck

Maybe my GPU usage has gone to shit because of my PSU. Its not the best one, Corsair VS 450W. Maybe I should buy a new PSU and see if that helps, or is the problem definitely not in the PSU?

@RazerzzWhat graphics settings you are using?

I'm using an i5-7400 with a GTX 970 and my play games just fine at mostly high to high detail.

Also you may have to clear the games cache sometimes.

BFV IS a CPU intensive game.

It also performs worse now than it did months and months ago... closer to within 6 months of launch... to now.. a Decent amount of changes happened and performance isn't exactly better... likely worse in some cases.

Maybe it's just me using VHigh or Ultra... varied maps and situations..

4cores at 100% isn't abnormal for BFV.

4cores8threads hits 70-100% too and drops GPU usages.

Being thread limited does suck when you do come across games wanting more.

I'd be hunting a used i7, or save and sell the existing platform, paired with saved dollars and maximize a newer platform.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
