Hi everyone,
I just want to ask if is a good idea to buy Huawei matebook due to Americano thingy with them.
Or it doesn't even matter because after buying it's only between MS and you.
And I'm planning to buy second hand one, matebook x pro with i5-8250U and mx 150 for something about 750 €.

That sounds pretty expensive for only an MX150, you should be able to get at least a 1050ti/1650 with that budget depending on sales

Does it really matter if the Chinese government knows what porn you watch?

The Ryzen 5 2500U version should be a lot cheaper, and can still do esports gaming just fine.

How much do you need to do gaming, and what kind of games?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Mostly programming/school stuff and I also want 14" max laptop so.
Also, screen and overall design is a bit more pleasing for me at x pro vs
And about the Chinese government I would say a) I already have an honor phone b) I bet that even apple is giving some info to USA but you know only China is doing this.

What stores are you using? If you aren't going to do any gaming then you don't need the MX150, and if you don't need a lot of onboard storage, the surface line of tablets is probably worth it just for the much better displays they get compared to laptops.

I found the matebook D with the R5 2500U on the german ebay in any event. It's like 200 less, still a perfectly capable system with comparable CPU performance.

I'm using my local store.
Yes I found matebook D here too with r5 2500u for 360€ so probably I will go for that.
But I don't know, body to screen ratio, 0.9" of screen more in the same body, design and TB3 ports are good too but, I don't know if it's worth 300€ more.
Surface lineup... 1 USB A, proprietary and mini display (wait what??) well not the best port selection for me I guess.

Surface just needs a dongle ya, but the 3:2 display is nice, 2736 x 1824

Most likely the USB type C on the Ryzen model can take care of anything you need thunderbolt to do, except for like an external GPU, and even then it varies by laptop.

Ok, so just to be clear, updates for matebooks (windows and things) should be coming out whatever happens between USA and China right ??

It doesn't matter, so ya it's going to get updated, windows is it's own thing entirely, as are AMD's drivers.

750 €

Where are you from? Usage? Any preferences on weight and battery life? Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM?

Also, why second hand?
