Build critique wanted.

OldHunter

please critique my build.

Primary use is gaming and looking for 4k/1440p 60hz and would like to keep an upgrade path open.  Target is $2,000 Canadian, although I'm already over...

Not opposed to go intel I5 9600 if that makes sense for some reason.

Your build is pretty good alto I rather get the 2700x and a X470 mobo.  Why would you get a X570 when your processor is 2600 ?  Are you planning on a future upgrade to Ryzen 3xxx series ?  By that time new mobo has come out and new CPU's.  The video card is outrageously priced very high along with CPU.  Other then that is a good.

Here is much better build.

3rd gen Ryzen CPU.

Better motherboard.

Better storage setup.

Lower wattage PSU because 750 is an overkill. Same model though.

Standard RTX2080 but with great cooler on it for overclocking. You can easily overclock it and match performance of 2080 Super.

If you want to go closer to 2k CAD, get a different case - P350X is a great option for less money.

But TBH I would go with B450/X470 motherboard unless you plan on getting high end Ryzen 3000 CPU in the near future.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I like this Fasauceome build the best.  No reason to spend all that money on a X570 when you have a 2xxx CPU.  Everything looks good with this build, however I would opt for a 8 core CPU but that is just me.

I see that several of us have the same thoughts vis a vis the cpu and motherboard.

This list comes in under budget. It gives up some on the case and eliminates the RGB fans which don't contribute to performance.

We're all approaching the same trend.  Here's where I stripped out the fat and went for better value on PSU and GPU.  Law of diminishing returns is terrible on the 2080 Super, just fine to go with a good aftermarket 2080:

Hey brob Im assuming that mobo has the button on the back to flash the BIOS so it works with the 3600 !

My thinking for the chip and x570 board was to update to ryzen 4xxx late next year.  Understanding that it might not be the best use of money.

What actual monitor will you be gaming on?  Helps to know the real rez before dumping almost $1000 on a GPU.

Yes. MSI calls the feature "BIOS Flashback" or "Flash BIOS Button".

Yes.  BIOS USB Q-Flash is on all MSI Tomahawk B450 boards.  (Also the B450 A-Pro and Gaming Plus)

The 4xxx series is not any time soon. Next year their going to release a refresh of their current Zen 2.  Then in 2021 we should see 4xxx and what not.  Also by that time new mobos are coming out anyways.  Just doesn't make sense, don't hold your breath on a 4xxx a year after the 3xxx and fact I heard they will only refresh the current Zen 2 like I said.

Thanks. Makes the B450 tomahawk and 3600 seem like a much better use of money.
