Strange audio issue

Hi,

 

I'm using the microphone on my Corsair HS50 and this morning it stopped working properly. I sound as if I had inhaled helium. It was working perfectly yesterday, less than 12 hours ago. Nothing has changed since then and the microphone works perfectly on my other computer so I'm not sure what to do.

So far the only sound issue I've had with that PC is that sometimes I'd need to restart the computer after a few days to have some sound coming out of the headphones. Could all these issues be due to the motherboard?
