New PC has stopped posting

displayport on monitor died

MSI MAG Tomahawk Z390, I5-9600K, MSI Gaming X RTX 2060 Super, 2x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200 MHz, Corsair RM750x, Seagate Barracuda 2TB, HP M700 120GB SATA III SSD

 

This is my first pc build that I completed about  a month and a half ago and it has been working fine, until last night when I tried to start my pc it wouldn't post. It powers up and the lights and fans all turn on,  but my monitor just spits out no signal. I have tried everything on the no posting thread and nothing worked. The only two things I can think of is that I had it running when I fell asleep and I woke up half way through the night and did a hard shutdown and the second is, that when I took the cpu out I noticed there was some thermal paste that seeped out onto the top of the cpu and was right on top of what appears to be some contacts right on the edge of the cpu. Does anyone know what the problem could be or if these two things could be the problem and/or how I can fix this?

Try clearing CMOs and see if that helps.

Do you have a mobo speaker or any lights on the board you can use to see what the post code is? Now you mentioned the thermal paste, chances are it is non-conductive, but just to be safe do you know what paste you used.

 

Now since your machine is an intel system I would try plugging your monitor directly in to the motherboard video ports and not the GPU and see if you get any video.

I don't have a mobo speaker but there are ez debug lights but they aren't showing me anything. And I have tried going through the onboard graphics ports and still nothing. The thermal paste is Cooler Master Mastergel Pro.

Looks like you are set here. It is NOT conductive. So that isn't your problem.
