Kali Linux User and Password not workin

I dual booted kali linux amd64 on my mac and i cant login with anything.

Did you set a password ?

I didn't have capslock on. And yes it is a fresh install.

 

I don't really want to redo it because it took a really long time to install it, but I will do it just in case

Boot into recovery mode then reset the root password using passwd.

Main Rig:-

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

Chroot into the root drive and change the password using passwd.

If After entering your username and password and hitting enter again presents you the login screen the problem might be in the latest version of dbus as most login managers struggle with latest dbus
