Is any wired option applicable?

APs are an extremely better alternative and cannot recommend a range extender because of them.

Ubiquiti has a few very good ones.

not really we need to put it upstairs and my mom doesn't want to drill holes.

I live in misery USA. my timezone is central daylight time which is either UTC -5 or -4 because the government hates everyone.

Well, tell your mom she's going to have bad connection and lots of connectivity issues. Doing a Cat5e cable run and putting an outlet box into a wall isn't that hard to do.

If you aren't going to help in the given parameters please take your unhelpful comment elsewhere.

Range extenders cut your bandwidth in half in many cases. They also need to be put in an area that gets great signal from the router. They don’t work well.

What Google router do you have?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Have you maybe considered trying powerline?

It might be a suggestion. I don't know if powerline works over different breakers though.

It's always worth a shot, and if not you could just return it. Just a suggestion as Wi-Fi extenders really are terrible, not trying to be mean they are literally terrible.
