He gave me my money back and let me keep the gpu. Win! Win!

Hi all,

So I just got back from buying a 2nd hand Sapphire Pulse RX 570 4G, I've plugged it in, and there's no power going to it. It's also not showing up in Device Manager.

My specs:

- i5-3750k

- 16 GB DDR3

- Gigabyte Z77-D3H

- Was using a GTX 460

- ThermalTake Toughpower XT 875W

- Windows 10

Previous owner said they hadn't used it for 6 months and hadn't tested it before selling it to me. Everything else in my rig is running fine.

What can I try before calling this guy back for a refund?

I would just straight return it,

but to answer your question:

boot in safe mode and run DDU.

after this boot up normally and install newest drivers for you card.

Hope this helps

Do you mean that you didn't connect the PCI-E power connectors? If so, try that. :P

You could also try the card in different slots in your motherboard, or a different computer.

What happens when you pop in both the GTX 460 and your new card, and plug your monitor connection into your 460? Does it show up at all in Windows? If you plug your monitor cables into the new card, what happens?

I'm silly but I'm not that silly haha.

I've plugged in the 8-pin connector that it needs as well as plugging it into my top pci-e x16 slot.

I mean't no power as in the fans aren't spinning and it doesn't show up in Device Manager. I'll try those other things and let y'all know.

So, I've got both plugged in now, my old GTX 460 in the primrary PCI-E slot, and the RX 570 in the second slot.

Right now my display is coming from the GTX 460, which is also the only card showing under display adapters.

Lastly, the GTX 460 fans are spinning, while the RX 570 fans are not.

I think this might have been a bung purchase :(
