A peruvian upgrade !

Hello everyone. I'm trying to upgrade my current rig and I'd like to know what my options are. Unfortunately I had issues with a cheap asus motherboard that was recommended to me and now the thing has burned out. Also my graphics card burned out as well... it was an MSI R9 380 Gaming that had three years at most (I'm still trying to take guesses as to why that happened).

Since I'm in Peru and Intel is expensive as fuck, I'm gonna have to go AMD. So far what I have is a 750W power source, 8GB of RAM and an AMD A8 6600K processor with integrated HD 8570D graphics.

I'd like to keep my upgrade buget at around $800 dollars. If it's possible I'd love to play The Outer Words on high settings (I suspect I might also need to upgrade the processor).

Thanks to all in advance.

For $800 you can get the latest A10 CPU, mid range motherboard, 16GB of RAM, a GT1030 and a decent cooler. 750W PSU is a bit overkill. I would recommend 500. PSU quality is better then PSU wattage

16 GB of RAM ? That much ? ? Also this is probably my noobness talking but I didn't realize a GT1030 was compatible with AMD processors.

As for my PSU it might be a lot, but I seem to remember my former calculations went around 600 or 650 wattage I believe. Anyways, here's the bad boy:

Yeah, you need a new power supply as well. That is a fire hazard.

Anyhow, don't look at the A series. Same goes for Intel, they don't have anything good atm. Ryzen is a far superior product. Get a Ryzen 3 2200G or Ryzen 3 3200G. They have good Vega graphics on board that match the 1030.

Explain yourself sir ! Why a new PSU ? ? That one has served me faithfully !

And about the Ryzen 3 3200G, are you telling me that one has integrated graphics that are just as good as the 1030 ?

Yes, the Vega iGPU is very solid. With fast dual channel memory it is almost the same as a 1030 and the Vega 11 inside the 3400G is faster than a 1030.

Your power supply has no protections, cheap Chinese caps and very poor build quality and performance. It can cause a fire if under higher load. It also cannot deliver it rated Wattage without explosing

Holy fuck. Any recommended PSU models ? I would insist that a 750W might be necessary if I try some other peripherals.

And the whole Ryzen 3 3200G has completely blown my mind. Obviously I can't run high settings at 1920x1080 with just integrated graphics, doesn't that put too much strain on the CPU ? Would that even be enough to run something like The Outer Worlds ?

Your current system only draws about 200W - anything over 450-500W is a waste of money

I knew I was getting robbed for that PSU.

Are you fluent in spanish ? If so, here you go:

I'm fairly bad with Spanish but I'll have a look in a few mins. I'll also look into the PSU further to see if we can get by with it. Don't feel too bad. Same thing happened to me years ago. Bought a crappy 600W one. It had issues. Bought an expensive 750W one thinking Wattage was the issue. Same system now runs on a quality 450W supply

Total - About ~750$

That's a quad-core CPU with SMT which performs on the same level as an i7 4790. Combined with a 1660 - it should be more than capable of playing games.

You have 50$ left over for a case of your choice. ANd in the future, get a second 8GB RAM stick and you'll have dual channel 16GB fast memory :)

You sir are a beautiful beautiful man ! Thanks a lot ? !

I might save those 70 bucks on the SSD since I already have one. A new case might be necessary though, last graphics card didn't fit.

It causes no problems if use two 4GB G-Skill RAM (DDR3) with the 8GB Crucial one ?

You can't use DDR3. The board won't accept it. Get fast DDR4 so that you aren't crippled by slow memory.

Then it'll have to be one more RAM piece ?
