So I want to upgrade to windows 10, but I have some worries. My notebook has Windows 7 Ultimate which has been very helpful in the last 6 years but since microsoft will end supporting it I guess I have to move on from it. Problem is that I didn't do it in time for the free upgrade and now, even though there are various sites upon one google search that say how to upgrade for free, I'm not sure if I will be able to do it. And the windows 10 pro licence price is way too expensive but I do not want to get a pirated version either. Any and all help will be appreciated.
Also I was planing on getting new Drives for my machine, so whenever I do this will be on a clean disk, and that too I don't know how it will work out. Should I just buy a product key? Thanks in advance.

I've attached the DxDiag in case anyone needs more intel on my other components.

The specs in your DXDiag file are definitely enough to run Windows 10, assuming Dell has proper drivers available for your laptop. I too have heard mixed responses on whether or not the Assistive Updater still works or not, while others have said you can just use your existing Windows 7 key to activate the same version of Windows 10 after installing without a key. Not sure how that works for Windows 7 Ultimate, but you can always buy a license for Windows 10 Home, too. Is there a reason you need Pro?
