i have never overclock a GPU can someone tell me what a good overclock would be i have a screenshot of a Valley Benchmark that I have done the only thing i have changed in MSI afterburner is power limit and power temperature to the max and that is all. Info is in the screenshot of what CPU and GPU i have i do not what to go all out with this i just want a boost in FPS if you need more info just ask me what you need PS. Can you tell me if i am bottle necked or not

you can simply tune core clock to 1500mhz & memory clock +500mhz 

the power setting does nothing to raw performance

Few corrections.

 

Im not sure where he has those clocks from, don't take them with much more than a grain of salt. Your card may be able to do better than this, or may not be able to overclock at all.

 

Power setting does help performance in 2 days. One, a higher power target may allow the card to clock higher on its own (I have never messed with the 900 series, but I know Pascal and Turing do this). Also, simply cranking the power and voltage settings have literally 0 negative side affects.

 

Lastly, the 970 is getting a little long in the tooth. Any plans to upgrade soon? You're missing out on quite a bit in power efficiency if literally nothing else.
