Half of the budget has to go on a good PSU like a CX550M

I guess with the money left u could find a used 750ti .

But why do u need to upgrade this PC ?

psu

Lenovo systems are notorious for using custom power supplies (either in connection, or form factor)

I'd check first if a "generic" power supply will fit...

Does it have to be the same length as the one I currently have on?

Well there's the problem. A lot of Lenovo systems use funky sized power supplies, so there simply may not be room for a normal sized one.

Easy way to tell, dimension-wise anyway, take measurements of the power supply and post them here, preferably with a picture or two of the inside of your system. We'll help you out from there...

Ok, the power connectors look to be standard, hooray for that.

And the size of the power supply looks standard as well

On a budget eh? What are you looking to do with it? I'd say since the CPU is still pretty good, i'd say try to find a cheap 1050 2gb or a GT 1030.

Current Rig:

Core i5 9600k

MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC

Corsair Vengeance RGB 32gb (4x 8gb)

Samsung 970 EVO 250gb m.2 SSD

WD Blue 1TB HDD

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

Cooler Master Masterbox 5 White

EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC

Secondary/Backup rig

AMD Ryzen 3 2200g

16gb Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz DDR4

MSI yada yada B450

Corsair CX650m

Corsair 275x

XFX Radeon 560X 4gig

240gb SanDisk SSD

Yep, I'll mostly use it for Flight Simulators and other sims. Also thinking of a 750ti if its compatible.

Pretty sure its the standard tower.

if you want new only then a GT 1030 is all you can do. if you're fine with a used GPU you can grab a used RX 480 from taobao and a 550w masterwatt on SLS for $80.

My current psu is about 101mm.

You will need to measure how much additional space is available (clear) beyond the end of the current psu. You will need at least another 40mm for an ATX. Ideally  60mm+ to allow for cables.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Dont- You'll want something thats newer for other sims. I use a PC almost every day that runs a 750ti and I will say its not terrible, but a 1030 would be a great improvement- plus you can get a Gigabyte OC model on amazon for around $80.

The 750 ti is more powerful than the 1030 tho (and I don't just mean the DDR4 model)

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
