Which laptop is the best desktop substitute?

I'm considering Alienware devices, or a Razer Blade Pro 17". Or anything else that you might suggest.

Thoughts?

A proper workstation. LENOVO ThinkPad P series, Dell Precision series or HP ZBook series.

what are you uesing it for?  Most of the time just getting a desktop and a cheap laptop is the best option if your looking to game and do school work. But If your space is confined something with a portable GPU dock my be the better option. But it relay depends on what you plan on doing with it.  When I was going to school I got a bigass Asus gaming laptop to use for gaming and in class, and after a few weeks I sold it because it was too heavy and bulky for what I was using it for.

I'm not using any creative tool for work, so it'd just be for gaming and entertainment. Something powerful enough to replace a desktop, without having to be bothered by all th cables because I'll be switching places often. I already have a thin and light device, this would only be used as a desktop.
