ddr3 ram at different frequency set together with xmp

Hello al at LTT. First time newbie. Is it possible to

run two set of ran at different frequencies, but change them in bios with xmp  to run at same frequency?

Well, yes, but actually no...

You see, if 2 XMP profiles collide and conflict, the one with less speed (and/or bigger timings, speed first, though) will be chosen by motherboard.

Purify your Windows 10/11, don't give Microsoft anything that you don't want to share.

The best thing to do here is to manually find the speed and timings that are stable across all work/gameloads and tune it down a little notch or two for better stability. That way it is going to work best.

XMP is usually only for fully matching set of sticks.
