Hello everyone!

So I need some advice. Im a streamer and i have a dual pc setup. With my current build I cant run OBS at max processing settings.  I want to be able to run obs max settings for the best quality.  I can run it about 4 settings from the top quality. Here is my build for my streaming PC.

Streaming PC Setup

My question is i think I would need to update the processor to achieve the best quality. I was going to swap the I7 7820X for either the I9 7980XE or the I9 9980XE but if im going to spend that kind of money I want to make sure that it will give me what I want. Also im not asking if its overkill but if those processors will achieve what I want which is better processing for my stream in OBS.  Also im not looking for more money efficient methods. But if there is a better processor that will achieve better results then I am all game for suggestions. Thanks and I hope you guys can help me with this one.

EDIT: I kind of want to stay with intel so i dont have to swap motherboards.

Depending on what you're trying to stream, your GTX 760 could be the issue here.

No it's not. That's not his gaming PC. Unless he's doing GPU encode on that thing it plays no role at all.

depending on your streaming location, you'll be facing a bandwidth limitation. If you're going all out, 1080p 60fps, you may be able to push that with your PC but Twitch for example would result in losses to quality, and you'd end up getting a better stream at 720p 30fps.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

Wait for Ryzen 9 3950x 16 core CPU coming in september. Or wait for threadripper 3. Either of those will give plenyy of rendering power.

Skylake x or skylake x refresh is certainly not where i would drain the money.

Edit: besides, you should be able to use your current allready overkill and way to expencive build anyways

I cannot run it at max without skipping frames. To run at max its very demanding for processing. I only have obs on that computer so nothing else is running either.

Just double the core then with threadripper or 3950x or threadripper 2.

Its way overkill, but if you were allready looking to spend 2 grand on a EOL CPU. Then why not.

It is a Processing limitaition. Internet is fine. Skipping frames not dropping. Drop = internet Skip = Processing.
