i wonder how long laptop can run straight in safe time? like 6 hour straight?

i use my laptop as writing and watching form site not youtube. like 5-8 hour not straight but i also sometime sleep it for like 1 hour or so. i designed the scren go to sleep for evry 2 minutes so my laptop occasianally Sleep.

 

1. its occasions sleep dmaage battery?

2. is 8 hour constant on for light use damage battery?

You can run a laptop for as long as it can without damaging the battery.  It's just that battery longevity is rated in terms of cycles (say, 1,000 cycles at peak capacity), so the longer you're running it away from a wall charger, the quicker you consume those cycles.

 

My general rule: stay plugged in when you can, but don't panic if you can't.  It's a laptop -- the whole point is to work away from a power outlet when you need to.  It's designed to keep going until it runs out of charge.
