So I upgraded my old intel Pentium E2210 in a eMachines ET1810 to a Intel core2 quad q9550 and after installing it my computer randomly freezes. The ideal cpu temps are around 50 degrees and the bios is up to date. I’ve also checked all the drivers and they’re fine. Any suggestions of how to help?

Have you tried running the RAM in single channel?  Some older Intel motherboard chipsets have issues with dual-channel if using a CPU much newer than the chipset was originally designed for.

Of course there are many other possibilities, not least that the capacitors on the motherboard might be worn out and not able to handle the load of the much faster CPU.  The PSU itself might have that problem also.

I recently swapped out the motherboard as well. Could it be a problem that I still have different motherboard chipset drivers install and that I haven’t re-installed the current ones?
