Hello,

i am not sure if this is the right category to ask this, if not i apolagize pls tell me where i should ask.

I am playing games and having random FPS spikes, for example while playing wow at mid settings from time to time i have frame drops, when i go to the task manager on windows my cpu is at 25-40% and the gpu is around the same, so i tried using HWmonitor and i could see that my cpu got to 100%, but i do not know why, this happens even in places with not many things happening, what makes me believe that i could have some other program that runs time to time in the background, but i cannot find it.

Is there any software that allows me to track this in a log so even if i can not see it live can go check later?

or if you have other ideias pls share.

Thanks ?

if it helps in anything here is my system:

windows10

CPU:i5 86000k

GPU:nvidia GTX 1070TI

RAM:16GB

SSD: 970 EVO 500GB

if youre CPU is 100%, then its cpu bottleneck. upgrading CPU or OC it

Look at his specs. He has a 1070Ti, the 8600K will not bottleneck that.

I don't play WoW, but I would imagine it is as buggy as most Blizzard games. What are your display settings in game? Is VSync/FreeSync on? Is your FPS limited? What framerates are you getting? Do you have any Antivirus other than Windows Defender, any GSkill RGB software?

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

yes it is a very buggy game but it is not very demanding in normal situations (outside major cities and raids, etc..), i use vsync and use the ingame fps lock at 60fps and they stay there most of the time. only windows defender. i do have GSkill RGB ram cause they were on sale, but i use the asus app to turn all the RGB off.

Okay, this may be where your issues arise.

Unlock your FPS and turn VSync off, do the issues persist? Also, for further clarification, you have GSkill RAM but are you using GSkill software at all?

No, I wanted to make sure you werent using it as it causes issues with Blizzards anti-cheat.
