So. i tried to overclock an msi gtx 970 gaming gpu. but i may have done a stupid. i progressed by 50s to 300+ clock speed over clock. and a 150 memory. at which point even after tuning back down. any time an application that made use of the gpu would be launched about a third of the screen was covered in a black bar. im not sure if it was just overheating and this was an anomoly or if this card is just now a unexpected highly functional very posh paper holder for my very windy bedroom :D. thanks for any replies

I don't know much about overclocking so someone may have a much better idea. But if it were me I would reflash the original BIOS.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

Unplug GPU and turn on the system without it, then turn it off and plug it in and turn it back on. Might help fix it.

I didn't get the impression that OP flashed a new BIOS on the card, did I miss something?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Neither did I. But if somethings gone wrong I don't trust a BIOS reset. I see no problem with a flash just to make sure.

gpu BIOS flashes can go wrong a lot easier than mobo flashes, I only ever recommend it as a last resort.

If a normal reset worked I wouldn't use it either.
