Computer high pitch noise

Hi P
Go to solution Solved by thedangerine,

I would try to make the sound happen again and see if you can tell which fan it might be, then remove the fan and see if it continues. High pitched noises could just be coil wine, but for the fan its possible that may the lubricant on the bearings is a little dry, or if the fan has any damage to the blades it may be wobbling at higher speeds and causing some parts of it to impact another creating the sound. Would definitely try to pinpoint where the sound is coming from

MOBO: B450 Aorus Pro Wifi

Yesterday I decided to update a few MOBO drivers and utility, among them was the utility Smart Fan 5, I played around with it a bit.

Today, few minutes upon booting my computer I began to hear a high pitch noise, I panic, but I had this feeling it could be smart fan since it was the only thing that I had tweaked the day before, I opened that program and set the calibration back to automatic, the fans reset and the noise was gone.

From the description, any vague idea what was it?

I would hate to hear that sound again... I wanted to uninstall Smart Fan 5 but what if the noise comes back and the program is the only way to turn it off :/

Thank you
