Hi guys,

I'm building my first PC and would like your advice on which graphics card to use. My needs are pretty basic - I play Path of Exile, which has recommended specs of GTX1050 TI or RX560 or better. Other than that, it will just be casual use.

I've been looking at RX590 Sapphire Nitro, GTX 1660 TI, and the RX 5700 XT cards. Is there any reason for me to get the 5700? I was thinking about it just for the experience but the early versions seem to have cooling and driver issues. Between the 590 and the 1660, the 1660 is higher rated but goes for about $80 more. I'm guessing both cards would readily handle Path of Exile. What do you guys recommend?

Wait a few weeks and grab a aib model with aftermarket coolers of the 5700 and you’ll be sweet for the next few years

What is the resolution you want to play?

The 1660 or 1660 ti? If you're comparing the Nitro + RX 590 against the 1660, I'd get the 590, but if you're against the 1660 ti, that one's better. Of course, the 5700 beats both, an in a short time non blower models will be available. Those cards should have the absolute best bang for buck on the market.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

or you can just buy a current 5700 as other people seem to be using the coolers just fine

And I’d still recommend aftermarket as blower coolers general aren’t as good.

Thanks all for the quick replies. I'm going to have a 2560x1440 monitor at 60Hz, in case that helps.

And yes, I was comparing the 590 Nitro to the 1660 TI. Even after the aftermarket coolers, I'm wondering if the 5700 is justified for my needs? $400+ or about $220 for the 590 Nitro or $280 for the 1660 TI. Does a game like Path of Exile even benefit from a card as powerful as the 5700?

A RX590 is already overkill for Path of exile. If that's mainly what you'll be playing, no need to spend the extra $80 on a 1660.
