I have been finding this throughout my loop as I have been taking it apart. WTF EKWB? Now I am going to have to flush the hell out of my radiator and make sure it is not clogged to hell and back.

is that plastic or some kind of hardened residue ?

Do u believe its from a block ..or a liquid ..or what ?

have u just added something from EKWB that makes u think its one of their products ?

more info please.

I found this rubber like substance after running EKWB green fluid in my loop for maybe 6 months. The loops was cleaned and flushed before putting this fluid in. I found this in my cpu block, in the fittings and in the pci pass through. I can understand a little build up, and residue. That is the nature of the beast, but not like this.

Interesting.

That amount of build up is rather crazy and i would expect it to alter the visuals of the fluid if it was depositing so much that it would start to flake of the surface and solidify like that. Did u notice a change in the coolant color over the 6months ?

Not a single bit. I noticed I kept losing fluid (not a lot), but chalked it up to evaporation.

Well colored fluid helps identify leaks very easily so if nothing is obvious its likely down to an air pocket slowly being filled.

Now as for the residue and coolant. If the color didnt change then i doubt it would have deposited THAT much to cause such buildup.

What i think has more likely happened, is that the colored coolant has stained a previous buildup. The flush along with the change in coolant has likely loosened that residue, after a while its flaked off completely.

A coolant reaction and/or dropout generally changes the coolant color and transparency. Since this hasn't happened i think that the build up was already there and has just come loose.

99/100 an issue with coolant is down to the user. Be it choosing the wrong coolant for the use case, using the wrong coolant + tubing type combination. Like using PETG tubing with a glycol based coolant. using a coolant without ensure a very thorough flush of any cleaning agents  etc etc.

This was a new build. The only used parts were the block and pump, but I broke those down to the bone and cleaned the hell out of them twice for the whole day just to be safe. I used a system cleaning solution for the whole loop, and flushed it three times.

hmm that really only leaves a reaction with cleaning fluid residue.

I suppose its possible u got a dud batch of coolant, but thats highly unlikely.

If u saved the old coolant, i doubt u did, but if u did its possible u could contact EK and they may be willing to take a sample of the fluid for testing.

Your doubting could not be more correct, because mama dropped me on the head twice.:p I see it as whatever. I don't know what coolant I will use next.

Try Mayhems. They are good.

And perhaps stick with clear fluid. less likely to get issues.

or just use straight distilled + biocide + inhibitor.
