Is this usual?

my gpu temp stays at 72°C...but cpu goes up and down around 72°C to 84°C while playing dauntless for hours...is there something wrong with the cpu?why is it going up to 84°C and slowly to 72°C then keep repeating this?

Nothing wrong with that. It is normal for cpu temps to fluctuatre for a variety of reasons cpu load, fan curves, power draw etc.

It may be thermal throttling depending on the CPU in question, its hitting a max temp, lowering its clock speed until it cools down to a safer temperature, then runs at normal speeds again, repeat indefinitely.

 

Either way those are some pretty toasty temperatures. I suggest a cleaning/repasting of the cpu cooler, and possibly an aftermarket cooler or a look at your cases airflow situation.

everything's at stock except xmp to run 3200mhz ram...the cpu stays around 4 to 4.15ghz...the temp is usual i think..it's ard 32°C out there..i didn't turn on the ac...

For your situation, especially when your CPU is at 4 GHz it is completely normal to see this.
