I Benchmarked my I5 6500 with cinebench r15 today and I've been getting a cb of around 480 instead of around 550cb like everywhere else I've seen on the internet. Upon further investigation, I notice that my CPU speeds drop immediately when put under any sort of load. I've checked my power setting and they are on max performance preset, and my drivers are up to date. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this?

My specs are:

CPU: i5 6500
Mobo: Gigabyte G1.sniper B7-CF

RAM: 2x 4gb Ripjaws 1x 8gb Kingston something

GPU: GTX 1050 ti 4gb

ps, yes I've tried swapping my wack ram config, I've tried 1x 8gb, 2x 4gb and 1x 4gb it doesn't seem to affect my problem.

The first one is single core boost, the second one multicore boost

Completely normal

The difference in cinebench scores could come from patches for spectre and meltdown, they had quite a bit of impact on performance. The scores online are probably taken way before the vulnerabilities came to light

Is there a way to make all the cores to boost that way? and can I roll back the updates somehow to get better performance, I don't really care about the vulnerability this isn't my pc :)

Unfortunately the July update which is what is causing the problem is a core change to the Windows threat model.  The only way to rollback is to find an old version of windows and never press Windows update.

You can force a multi-core boost in the BIOS.  Different motherboards have different names for it.  You can even just do an all core boost and turn off turbo boost.

Just as a quick re-cap turbo boost will stay on between 2-12 seconds depending on your hardware configuration, BIOS firmware and i'm sure a butt ton of other factors.  Just overclocking your CPU to do a multi-core OC will keep them there the whole time.  Be sure to apply the appropriate avx offset for your system.

It might be your CPU underclocking / throttling due to high temperatures.

I'm not too familiar with overclocking and CPU timings etc. I don't have a "z" motherboard can I still do this?

It's always a good time to learn.  If you have a clock multiplier in the BIOS you can.  You can try installing Intel XTU as well if you don't have any luck with the BIOS.

Highly doubt it due to the nature of being a locked chip
