Hi everyone,

Right now I have 2 raspberry pi's that are constantly on and connected to the internet. One is for a 'magic mirror' project that is connected for weather updates and new feeds, while the other is running myeyeOS (security camera software) to monitor our house. I have forwarded a port so that I can monitor the camera while away from home. I've read that security protocols are very lax unless you set them otherwise. Is this a security risk to my network?

If you want to verify what's a risk on your network, set up a Nessus scan on it. This will poke at a lot of common attack points and give you a report on what succeeded.

EDIT: I should mention that not everything it reports may be severe enough for you to address. That is, figure out what you think should be fixed and what can be ignored because it's not that much of a safety risk to you.

Ah, didn't even think about doing a security scan. Thanks!

I just wasn't sure if somebody is able to access one of the pi's whether they would gain access to the other computers/router on the network.
