Upgrade choices help

Hello,

 

Asked before on this but held off for new AMD cpu's.

 

Should i upgrade?? 2600 or new 3600 ??

 

My concern is looking at new build almost,because my current specs

 

i5 6500

B150N Phoenix-WIFI mini itx

16gb ddr4 ram (not sure ram speed but had it long time and certainly not 3000 or 3200)

 

MSI GTX 1080 AE

 

My case is fractal design core series 500, so am looking at new mobo,cpu,case,psu minimum. How much loss would it be use my current ram?

 

Other concern flashing bios not really anywhere to take new motherboard if needed it around here.

Get a b450 board with bios flashback and get a 3600

 

its better to use faster ram especially with ryzen

Am in the UK and not many local shops around here,certainly not free lol.

Also if you get a board without flashback amd can send you an athlon to flash your bios

Didn't know you were going for a new case, does it have to be microATX?

Or there's a compact ATX case, the coolermaster Q500L

No doesnt have to be micro atx, just my current case is mini itx so motherboards are pricey and that was just cheap bundle i found.

If you are on a budget the 2600 isn't a bad choice either. It performs pretty well and should work on just about any b350 or b450 board unless they are really old and don't have any bios updates done to them. It has also been around long enough to have all the bugs worked so you won't be beta testing for AMD and mobo companies lol.

 

If your budget isn't tight, ya get the 3600 and some decent ram.

 

Something to consider is if you have a set budget going with the 2600 might free up some cash you could put towards something else like a new SSD or something if you need one.
