That RAM kit will lower your system speed. Get a nice 3200+ kit. They are overclockable too, so try per example a 3200 kit with the speed and timings of a 3600 kit from the same brand with the same chips. Take a look at G-Skill.

That CPU cooler will definately hold you back. Go for a Dark Rock Pro or something like it. It will provide you with some actual overclocking headroom.

You could save on the motherboard with an Asrock Taichi, and get more performance (expecially on the memory side of things)

The rest seems fine.

If you want to check compatibility, look at PCPartPicker.com

also, what's the main purpose of this rig?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Compatible yes, the combination just makes ZERO sense, ZERO. No task out there does this build give you the best performance for the money.

Overpriced board most of the time. like 15% too much atm in the US.

It might run cool while pulling off 2.2GHz overclock, it's still slower than the worst 2060 running stock.

Hurts your overclocking results on the CPU due to weak cooling. If you cant overclock high you might as well go with Ryzen.

Could go with only a 500w for this current system, considering the max power draw is about 350w no matter what you do with it

Usually overpriced. Being QLC SATA, it's quite often found in the price range of QLC NVMe (Intel 660p) and TLC SATA (Adata SU800, Curcial MX500) which beats it 7 days in a week.

The gap on the front panel is too narrow to pull enough air in for cooling. Too bad coffee lake isn't that efficient compared to Ryzen 3rd gen

Let's say you really need 64GB of memory (for gaming I dont see any point for more thna 16GB), it's usually cheaper to just buy 4 seperate 16GB sticks.

I've listened to you up to the motherboard, I switched the asrock taichi, and swapped it for a msi Z390-A PRO LGA1151 board which was about 70 dollars usd cheaper than the strix board. Was this a good idea?
