Rate this $1000 Work Machine Build

Hi everyone.

This build will not be for gaming, but an overall fast machine that can handle photoshop + lightroom with 100s of opened photos. These are like 20mb photos too.

Looking for feedback. This is what I have picked SO FAR, very open to change things if something is a better fit.

This is a much better build. you get twice the number of threads and similar if not better per core performance. For photoshop and lightroom, they are very much also gpu accelerated, so you would need both a decent gpu and cpu. for 1000USD, a Ryzen 3600 and GTX 1660 Ti will perform alot better.

 

BTW, you DON'T need to use an aftermarket cooler especially an NH-D15 for a non overclocked processor. Ryzen's stock cooler is also enough for a mild OC.

Cut both of those, get an H310 or B360 motherboard and use the saved money on a better processor.

I had a quick look at a few H310 motherboards, and noticed they didnt support 3200mhz ddr4 RAM?

Also if I pickup a 9th gen CPU, isn't it better to pickup a motherboard that natively supports the 9th gen cpus?

if you are not overclocking, you dont need a Z390 board. for intel there is no real performance benefit to push 3200Mhz, especially not with an i5-9600

Any reason why you chose the intel 660 SSD over the samsung 970 pro? It performs a lot better and isn't costing me much more.

More of an intel fan too.

 

Also already have a GTX 970 so will be using that.

Also already have a GTX 970 so will be using that.

Samsung 970 Pro 512GB is 160USD and Intel 660p 512GB is 60USD. It is a 100USD difference which can easily be put to a processor upgrade like an i7-9700k instead if you really want Intel. The performance of 970 Pro is better than the Intel 660p yes, but the 660p is already fast enough that you won't be able to feel a difference at all. and also the 970 Pro is near 3x the price of the 660p, you can easily buy two intels for the price of the samsung.
