Thunderbolt Laptop for Corel

My Dad got his current PC for CorelDraw in 2011 and it's high time for an upgrade because it still runs AMD processors from that time frame and I don't need to say why that's a bad idea. I want to get him a laptop with thunderbolt 3 so he can move between home and work and just plug into a hub and go exactly like what Linus did with his cleanest gaming setup a few months back (sans gaming). What's a good option and do I need a GPU for Corel? I know nothing about Corel so any help is appreciated.

Where are you from? Budget? Any preference on weight, battery life and display size? Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM?

Honestly just something good and simple for under $1000. Like I said it's for my Dad and he's pretty tech illiterate. He just uses Corel for architectural work when he's plotting out a new project to build.

Is TB3 a must? Do you want dGPU? Prefer regular laptop or gaming/performance laptop?
