Is Haswell on laptops worth an extra $300?

I want to get a new laptop to replace my old Pavillion brick but I can't choose between a Haswell based system or a slightly older Ivy Bridge based system. It's going to cost me an extra $200-300 to get it and would it be worth the 9 hour battery life?

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

To me, no as that $300 could go towards my desktop.

Depends on how much you value the battery on your laptop. If you use it for long hours it might be worth it.

Also depends on the graphics difference. If not big, I'd definitely save the $200. Heck, I'd go for Sandy Bridge if it's a $300 savings.
