Hi tech enthusiasts ;)

I just bought myself a Zotac 2080 blower (should be home in a fews days) and wanted to change its cooler for the artic acclero IV.

Before setting up my mind, I would really like your opinions and recommandations on any good GPU cooler you would put on a 2080.

I am looking for nice temperatures (obviously :p) but silence is a priority (at least compared to the blower version ^^)

Budget : around 100 euros (France)

Thanks guys :)

2 reasons :

-Got a great offer, 400 euros shipped (price in france starts at 600 with KFA models without shipping)

-I wanted to tweak a gpu as an experience ^^

Oh ok, saving money is always the way to go lol. Also make sure you quote people so they see your response.

They may have specifically gone with a worse cooler with the intention of an aftermarket cooler which is way better than any AIB offerings.

As for OP, i suggest the Rajintek Morpheus 2, has mounting hardware for two 120mm fans, its a very large cooler, you can choose what fans you want to use on it, wether you want to go silent and keep good temps with low RPM noctuas/bequiet fans, or if you dont care about noise but want the think to run at like 50c under full load, slap on some 4krpm deltas

Thanks didn't know about quoting ^^'

I have 2 issues over the morpheus : 1/ it is just cooling the GPU and nothing else (VRM and VRAM). However in term of design with proper fans it gets quite beautiful :)

2/ fan control (but i am not sure if it is not the same with the accelero) must be set on the motherboard and their speed is controlled in bios                                                                  only(am I wrong ?).

it comes with VRM and ram heatsinks and cools with the downdraft(updraft? configuration depends i guess) airflow.

You can get an adapter but i think it comes with one to run the fans off of the gpu header. Otherwise you can just get a pwm fan controller hub and run that off of molex or something.

This is the kind of cooler you dont change the fan speed on, when i say 50c under load that is not an exaggeration.

this gives more detail on it

49c under full load with 2000rpm fans on a 1080ti

Ok he directly plugged the fan on the card PCB and can control them easily. Interesting because it looks gorgeous compared to the artic solution ^^

If i take this i would probably pair it with be quiet fans which are less powerful than the ones in the video as such i fear for the VRM and VRAM temperatures. Do you think it can be an issue for oc or longevity in normal use ?

In france unfortunately morpheus 2 is at 100 euros x) but i can still afford it

not at all, bequiets 120mm pure wings 2 operate at 2000rpm without making much noise and have a similar cfm rate as the fans he used in the video, they would be the best option for this kind of thing from bequiet

I take that you would recommand morpheus over the artic, are we sure it is 2080 compatible ?

Personally, what would be your choice in fans ? (taken the performance i think i would stick to 1000rpm if that is enough for VRM and VRAM)

theyre both really good coolers but i recommend the morepheus for that extra level of customization with the fans, you can mount other fans to the acellero but its not intended for that like the morepheus is

thats really the only reason i suggest it, it looks a bit better imo, and the cooling performance can be drastically better if you use super high rpm fans

for the fans i would suggest those pure wings 2, they are still very quiet while offering pretty high cfm at a good price point, though with lower rpm the shadow wings 2 would be a good option as well, they also have little vibration dampening pads that may be needed, though little squares of foam tape work just as well and the morpheus comes with those just in case

and yeah its compatible, you use the AMD mounting hardware oddly enough

You have convinced me, i wil take it ^^

I just have two questions left x)

-Does morpheus comes with the AMD mounting hardware else where can i buy it ?

-Lastly, where can i get the thin metal band to attach my fans to the morpheus ?

Bonus question ? i see morpheus 2 core edition, no difference except the black look ?

it comes with the mounting hardware and the wire holddowns for the fans, i think it has both 120mm and 92mm mounting wires for some reason

the core edition is just the annodized black version, theyre the same otherwise

Thank you a lot :) i have something to buy now ahah
