Thermaltake

Go to solution Solved by Metallus97,

Well they are decent nice! I have build a loop with that stuf a few weeks ago for my buddy. Price to performance is awesome.

But my suggestion for price/perf water-cooling is alphacool!

Thermaltake has sort of the cheap image. And yes the build and especially did build much crap. I was verry surprised by them but still suggest alphacool for price/perf. But this recommendation is simply based on me having more long term experience with them.

thermaltake has been doing it for a very, very long time, they make decent stuff

companies like EKWB showed up to make a "premium" product, they should not be the baseline for water cooling hardware like people seem to think of them as

THIS!!!! Sure EK is stelar build quality, looks and performance. But the difference to alpha, thermal, water-cool is not worth the price difference!

But sure if I had the money idd get a EK loop :D

Hey,

what do you think about Thermaltake water cooling parts? Like blocks, radiators, pumps, reservoirs, fans. I primary want to go TT because they are in Chroma Connected Program. but I also don't want to forget about quality. What do you think about TT?

Thanks :)

Ive had experience with a custom loop TT CPU + GPU blocks and a radiator that sat outside of my case and a reservoir up top of the case also a nice big pump that made ZERO noise which also sat outside of the case.  The pump made zero noise and my GPU temp was like stuck at 50c and wouldnt budge when I gamed,, CPU was nicely cooled as well.

Having said all this, I did got leaking issue but those were most probably my fault.  I highly recommend them, but no body likes Thermaltake in the guru in industry or LTT peeps.

My above post says it.  They were great then with my above post  The pump very impressive made zero noise.  I would just liquid trickle sound which is not bad and sorta cool.  I recommend them for best bang for the buck sorta like AMD is best bang for your buck ya know.

People say they suck, but I know for fact that is impossible especially after a decade ago my last experience was with them and loved it.  So todays TT liquid cooling has to be even better, much better.  I wouldn't listen to people that say TT sucks and is poor quality etc.  They just got lost in the shuffle and what not.

Thermaltake: yes, one opinion, BUT dont get me started on AMD= Best for the buck! I dont wanna be fanboy, bbbbut on the CPU side this is no longer true. They are good at every price point now and at most better

But lets not get of topic :)

I seem to recall recall Jay ranting for somewhere between 15 minutes and half an hour about the abysmal quality of their watercooling parts (and the rest of their portfolio), but then again he (rightfully) has a bone to pick with that bunch of thieves and crooks.

Well, u may laugh from this but I want to sync up leds with Razer. Bitspower has support for Mystic Light and Mystic Light has support for Razer but TT has own software and they are sayin that they RGB products are 100% compatible with Razer. On MSI site u couldn't even find that partnership with Razer, nothing, like there aren't any partnership. And In Mystic Light u don't have just MSI stuff, but from a lot of other brands and I think there is some product from some brand that is compatible with Mystic, but not compatible with Razer(I mean In mystic light leds may be working well, controlling them may be fine but in razer synapse not) and that case can be Bitspower so that's why  I am scared to go for Bits. They even don't have decent site or vids about some their RGB stuff so that's the main reason I wanna take TT.

Razer partnership program: https://www2.razer.com/chroma-workshop/connected-devices

What do you think guys? Thanks

Sorry for the bad exmaple LOL,, but you know what I was trying to say.  I mean man so long ago I had their custom loop as I said in above post and they didn't let me down.  The tubes were not as big as todays liquid cooling but it was a long couple foot loop but GPU and CPU block,, and it was great.  People don't like Thermaltake as I said they sorta got lost in the shuffle.  Anyhow don't be afraid of Thermaltake products especially when I had zero issues 15 years ago and what not.

And one more question: Isn't TT that I'll getting higher temps or leaks or broken parts after using a couple of months? Asked a couple of other guys in other forums and they said that it's not durable against EK or Bits or Alpha

Well higher temps: In custom loops we are talking about like 2-3deg difference, so that doesn't matter. Form my first test the performance was not bad at all!

Longevity: Cant tell but the quality looks fine. But as for any loop. regular maintenance IS required :).

How is the price difference to occool? And please make sure you get a denote pump like a D5 or Eheim

Here is the list:

CPU Block - TT W5

GPU Block - Waiting for 2080S blocks

Pump/Res Combo - Pacific PR22-D5 Plus

Tubing - Some soft from TT (don't blame me, not ready for bending haha :D) should I take ID/OD - 13mm/19mm or 9,5mm/16mm?

Fittings - Some compression fittings compatible with tubing and adapters also

Coolang - C1000 Clear

PSU - Toughpower iRGB Plus 1000W/850W Gold ? - what do you think?

Rads - C360 (27mm thickness, 360mm)

Fans - 2x Riing Trio 12

Case - Meshify S2

What do u think? :)

sounds good. you say Rads? so 2x360? Thats NICE

Tubing: Idd go 13mm/19mm, looks better, also better flow (wich doesn't matter with a decent D5 but anyway). Especially here I would go with good old primo flex since they are not much more expensive than TT and the TT ones did not feel or look that well. I think they will hold up, but with Primoflex I promise you they are great!

Also dont get the occool tubes since they are hellacrap :D

I recommend and use myself 13/10mm that's pretty standard.

I can't find compression fitting for that by TT

Then get something bigger and with at least 3mm wall thickness. Then it just comes down to looks

Pretty accurate hehe 2/3 of all 360mm aio's are just asetek's any ways... Thermaltake has lovely RGB on the high end for sure.

Make sure you double check what the parts are made of. Last I saw they make aluminum radiators while their other parts are nickel-plated copper.

Personally, I use their fans. I like the way they look and was able to sync them up with the rest of my stuff via Arduino pretty easily with their adapter. They aren't the best performing fans, but I can keep them at a fixed 800rpm for everything I do with no issues so my system is nice and quiet.
