Okay, so I recently bought a (used) Rift 2500 Swedish crowns (about $250).

I knew that I would have to upgrade my current 760 4 Gb (Here is my parts list btw: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tLc4RJ). But I have a few options for which one that I'll pick.

1. My friend's old 760, and run them in SLI.

This is my cheapest option, but if the performance would be crap, I would rather go with something else.

2. A used card. Think like 1660, 1060. Which is around 2000kr ($200)

3. Same as no.2 but new. (about $50 more)

Then something kinda off-topic:

Some people that I've talked to have said that the rest of the system isn't powerful enough (I know that I need more RAM).

Is this really true, the Steam VR benchmark says that the GPU is the only "b-word". I haven't tried Oculus's own...

Thanks in advance

Is a 570 really enough? UserBenchmark says that it's slower than a 970. Which really isn't enough either according to what I've heard.

The 570 is the same performance level as GTX 1060. Yes, its enough for VR. Its the entry level card required for VR but you can play prety much all VR games just fine with it.

I even played some games in VR with GTX 1050 2GB but only the very basic games worked like Beat Saber or Luckys tale. More demanding games were unplayable.

And I know few people that play with GTX 1050ti 4GB with some frame drops at low settings but its playable. RX 570 is still better than that.

Also, GTX 1060 and RX 570 have some HW specialised for VR so it will run much better on those cards than if you ever SLId your 760s.

While i agree that the 570 is good enough for vr the 1060 competes with the rx 580 rather than the 570.
